C-0025 Verified MODERATE certainty

The quantum-inequality obstruction to warp drive has independent corroboration in the corpus beyond the single Pfenning-Ford paper. Everett & Roman (1997), analysing the Krasnikov tube — a different superluminal geometry — apply the same Ford-Roman inequalities and reach the same class of conclusion, explicitly noting the parallel Pfenning-Ford warp result; and Fewster's lectures derive quantum energy inequalities from first principles as 'remnants of the classical energy conditions' that quantum field theory does satisfy. The wall bound C-0007 therefore no longer rests on one paper: the inequality it uses is a reviewed, independently-applied result, which lifts the single-source downgrade even as the specific 10^2 coefficient remains Pfenning-Ford's.

Standing peer reviewed consensus · interpretation · TRL 1 Assumes Everett-Roman 1997 (S-0017) and Fewster 2012 (S-0016) as the corroborating sources; 'the same class of conclusion' means QI-type magnitude/duration limits on negative energy, not the identical numeric bound Stops applying the specific 10^2 v_b L_Planck coefficient, which remains from Pfenning-Ford alone and is not independently reproduced here

Attacked the claim's headline word "independent" by testing whether either corroborating source is actually independent of the Pfenning-Ford/Ford-Roman line, and separately attacked span coverage by checking every assertion in the claim text against the canonical fulltexts, since only one evidence record (E-0041) is cited. Concretely: (1) verified E-0041's chain — quote found at exactly char 4357 of corpus/S-0017/fulltext.md, context matches locator, file sha256 e8908276... matches both against_canonical_sha256 and the S-0017 source record; (2) searched S-0017 for the actual QI application — found at char ~25995-26400 "we apply the flat space QI to the Krasnikov spacetime... and reach a similar conclusion regarding the thickness of the negative energy regions", plus "Similar orders of magnitude were found in the case of the Alcubierre warp bubble", confirming the same-inequality/same-conclusion-class assertions the cited span does not itself cover; (3) built the independence case against Everett-Roman: Roman is co-author of the Ford-Roman QI being applied ("Ford and Roman have proven inequalities", char 4130), the work was done at the Tufts Institute of Cosmology (Ford and Pfenning's institution, per acknowledgments), and the paper thanks "Michael Pfenning and Larry Ford for helpful discussions" — so the E&R leg is the same research circle applying its own group's inequality, not an arms-length check; (4) tested the Fewster half (uncited by any evidence record): the quoted phrase 'remnants of the classical energy conditions' verifies at char ~340 of corpus/S-0016/fulltext.md and in abstract.md, and the lectures contain actual QEI derivations ("the following QEI holds for all Hadamard states...", char ~46747; "Derivation of the QEI", char ~61110; theorems/proofs via microlocal analysis). The independence attack failed to refute because the claim's regime block explicitly defines corroboration as "QI-type magnitude/duration limits... not the identical numeric bound", disclaims the 10^2 coefficient as Pfenning-Ford-only, and because Fewster 2012 (different group, algebraic-QFT/microlocal machinery) is genuinely independent — so "no longer rests on one paper" holds even if the E&R leg is discounted. All 16 checks are reproducible via the attack script; no web identifiers were recalled — all IDs (gr-qc/9702049, 1208.5399, Phys. Rev. D 56, 2100) were copied from corpus meta.json. || FINDINGS: E-0041 quote verified EXACT at char 4357 of S-0017 fulltext (sha e8908276... matches ledger). S-0017 body: "In this section, we apply the flat space QI to the Krasnikov spacetime, again in the short sampling time limit, and reach a similar conclusion regarding the thickness of the negative energy regions" (char ~26276) and "Similar orders of magnitude were found in the case of the Alcubierre warp bubble" — directly supports "same Ford-Roman inequalities, same class of conclusion". S-0016 fulltext char ~340: "quantum field theories satisfy remnants of the classical energy conditions, known as Quantum Energy Inequalities (QEIs)" — the claim's embedded quotation verifies verbatim, and the lectures do derive QEIs (Hadamard-state QEI at ~46747, CFT QEI derivation at ~61110). Independence caveat established but non-refuting: T. Roman co-authored the applied Ford-Roman QI, E&R was written at the Tufts Institute of Cosmology, and acknowledgments thank Pfenning and Ford by name; genuine independence rests on Fewster. Bookkeeping: corpus/S-0017/meta.json artifacts[] lists fulltext.md as 35183 B / sha fc5992f5... while the actual file is 37518 B / sha e8908276... (top-level canonical_sha256 and ledger agree with the file, so the citation chain is intact; the artifacts block is stale).
